So this is the beginning. Here you will find a collection of works mainly based around my art and design, but also updates on any musical and film endeavors that I happen to be working on.
Why the "Grumpy Snail"? It's just too good, s'all.
So anyways, this first post will consist mainly of a bunch of pieces that I've done over the previous months for Infernale and She, two musical outlets that I'm working on. For those who don't know, Infernale is the consistently "on again /off again" band that I've fronted over the last four years. The current status of Infernale is... hopefully "productive".
We recently wrote a new EP as a project to test ourselves, as it was going to be our triumphant return after being on hiatus for a year. The project came to mind when Larry (the bass player... nothing more, nothing less) had an assignment to do for JMC Academy and had to record a band in the studio. We decided for laughs we would just write an entirely new 5-track EP five days before going in... good move right?
Originally to be entitled Loss Of All Quality (...), the tracklisting was to be labeled after other local bands, and was to read as follows:
- The Amity Affliction
- A Cause To Unite
- xWish For Wingsx
- Infernale
- The Daylight Curse
...too bad. I'm not bothering to write about it as I don't care enough. But for those of you who do, it put us in a position where we thought it might be a low blow to label a song after them, when it obviously (again, sorry for those who don't know, but due to our history it is obvious to those who do) is meant to be a bit tongue in cheek.
So the EP was renamed and as were the songs, and theme of the EP somehow changed into a Soviet Russia/Communist look. Mainly because we wanted to utilize our on again/off again dog, Mal (who we nick-named Malcolm Doggett. He's dead now), and somehow being a dog... plus our friend Liam (who you will come to know shortly) and his amazing perspective...
Anyways, it turned out as follows...
